About this plugin
This upgrade path consolidates your existing Weiss mastering tools into a single, unified processor that represents the current pinnacle of transparent dynamics control. If you already own both the Deess and MM-1 plug-ins, this upgrade delivers the complete DS1-MK3 architecture - a line-for-line code port of the hardware unit that has defined mastering standards since the 1990s.
The DS1-MK3 combines compression, limiting, and de-essing in one algorithmically sophisticated package, offering capabilities no purely analog device can match. Its architecture permits surgical frequency-selective processing without audible artifacts, making it equally suited to transparent broadband compression or targeted sibilance control. The digital platform enables parameter ranges and automation workflows that would be impossible in hardware form, while maintaining the sonic signature that made the original hardware indispensable across thousands of major label releases.

For mastering engineers and serious mix engineers, this represents a logical consolidation rather than a lateral move. You're gaining access to the full processor's integrated workflow while retaining the sonic character you already know from your existing Weiss tools. The upgrade path acknowledges this existing investment while providing access to the complete feature set and processing chain that distinguishes the DS1-MK3 as the transparent dynamics processor most often heard on commercially released music.
Softube's implementation maintains the precision and low-distortion character essential for mastering work, delivering the gold-standard performance at a fraction of hardware cost.
