About this plugin
The 6034 Ultimate Multi-band stands as one of the most capable multiband dynamics processors available for AAX DSP workflows. Built on the foundation of McDSP's respected 6050 channel strip, this plugin distributes the same compression, expansion, and gating engines across a four-band crossover architecture, enabling independent dynamic control of discrete frequency ranges without the phase artifacts common to less sophisticated designs.
The crossover implementation offers genuine flexibility through selectable filter slopes at 6, 12, or 24 dB/octave, allowing engineers to tailor band separation according to material characteristics and aesthetic preference. Each band receives full metering for both gain reduction and output level, alongside main I/O monitoring, providing the visibility necessary for transparent processing or intentional color.

What distinguishes this version is its optimization for contemporary hardware and McDSP's commitment to zero-latency algorithms with double-precision processing. The on-the-fly module swapping - a signature feature inherited from the 6050 - enables rapid A/B comparisons while preserving relative settings, critical for time-conscious mixing sessions. Analog saturation modeling adds harmonic character when desired, though the core dynamics processing remains the primary draw.
The included presets from industry figures including Mike Dean and Zakk Cervini offer stylistic reference points without constraining creative direction. The 6034 appeals primarily to mixing engineers tackling complex material requiring surgical frequency-specific dynamics, mastering specialists needing transparent multiband control, and producers working within Pro Tools | Ultimate environments where DSP acceleration justifies the investment. It occupies genuine territory between surgical precision and musical character.
