About this plugin
Bark24 | Dyn is a multiband dynamic processor that approaches spectral control through the lens of human auditory perception. Rather than dividing the frequency spectrum into arbitrary bands, it employs 24 bands derived from the Bark scale - a psychoacoustic model that reflects how listeners actually perceive pitch and loudness relationships across frequencies. This fundamental design choice eliminates a persistent friction point in mixing: the need to mentally translate between linear frequency divisions and musical results.
The plugin offers four dynamic processing modes, allowing users to move between transparent limiting, transient sculpting, texture enhancement, and aggressive spectral manipulation within a single interface. Linear phase filtering across three selectable slopes prevents the phase distortion that can muddy results when processing multiple bands simultaneously - a technical detail that becomes audible during subtle corrective work or when stacking processing chains.

Controls emphasize speed and intuition. Drawing threshold curves directly on the interface, grouping adjacent bands for collective adjustment, and toggling A/B comparisons of different settings streamline workflow compared to traditional multiband compressors. The auto-threshold feature intelligently adapts to incoming material, reducing setup time while maintaining user override when creative intent demands it.
Bark24 | Dyn serves mixing engineers seeking precise tonal control without the CPU load of plugin chains, producers exploring textural sound design, and mastering professionals requiring surgical intervention across problem frequencies. Its Bark-scale architecture positions it distinctly from linear-frequency competitors, offering results that typically require less tweaking to feel musically coherent. Generous per-band gain range, comprehensive metering modes, and MIDI controllability round out a genuinely capable tool for contemporary production workflows.
