INTENSITY 2

INTENSITY 2 is a specialized loudness and clarity processor that applies machine learning-derived techniques to enhance perceived detail and transient definition. Built on minimum phase filter bank technology, the plugin operates with deceptive simplicity: a single primary control adjusts intensity while three distinct algorithms - CRYSTAL, BRONZE, and SMOOTH (the original v1) - offer different sonic characteristics. CRYSTAL and BRONZE bring aggressive transient enhancement and tonal bite, while SMOOTH delivers the warmer, more refined approach of the first version.

The technical foundation is noteworthy. Rather than conventional EQ or compression, INTENSITY analyzes signal content to identify and amplify the features that make sounds distinctive, conceptually similar to how HDR processing enhances photographic detail. The redesigned v2 algorithms operate at near-zero latency (3 samples) with significantly reduced CPU overhead while optionally leveraging 64-bit precision for headroom-critical mastering work.

For stereo mixing, the mid/side processing mode proves particularly valuable. Applying INTENSITY exclusively to the side channel expands stereo width without narrowing the central image - an elegant solution rarely found in conventional tools. The soft-knee saturating limiter prevents unwanted peaks while maintaining musicality.
