About this plugin
X-FDBK addresses one of live sound's most persistent problems: acoustic feedback. Rather than relying on manual EQ or trial-and-error ringing out, the plugin automatically identifies problematic resonances and applies surgical notch filtering to eliminate them before they become audible. The process is straightforward - run a brief acoustic test, and X-FDBK maps the PA or monitor system's frequency response, deploying up to 20 independent notch filters to target the specific peaks that cause feedback in your particular venue and setup.
The technical approach centers on dynamic frequency analysis combined with fixed-Q notching. The plugin continuously monitors incoming audio and automatically optimizes both filter bandwidth and cut depth, adapting to room conditions without requiring manual intervention. This automation meaningfully reduces setup time - typically what demands 15-20 minutes of manual work and multiple people can now be accomplished by one engineer in minutes.

X-FDBK is purpose-built for live sound engineers mixing monitors or main PA systems, particularly in touring situations where rapid adaptation to different venues is essential. The included visual display shows real-time frequency analysis alongside the applied filter responses, providing feedback (in the technical sense) on what the plugin is doing.
Among feedback suppressors, X-FDBK distinguishes itself through genuine automation rather than static presets. It maintains headroom while preserving overall tone, and the global filter controls allow quick manual adjustments if unexpected acoustic changes occur mid-show. For engineers who've spent countless hours manually ringing out systems, the efficiency gains are tangible.
