TRACT System Calibration is Waves' answer to the fundamental problem that has plagued mixing engineers for decades: no two rooms sound alike, and most don't sound good. This plugin automates what would otherwise require specialized measurement equipment and painstaking manual correction. It integrates with Smaart v9 to analyze your acoustic environment, then generates and applies corrective EQ curves designed to flatten frequency response and minimize phase coherence issues through time alignment.
The technical architecture includes both minimal-phase and linear-phase FIR filter components, giving you flexibility in choosing between transparency and phase accuracy depending on your needs. The IIR filter bank provides eight bands of industry-standard equalization for fine-tuning beyond the automated correction. The ability to capture and merge up to eight measurement snapshots creates a more robust calibration model than single-point measurement, addressing the reality that room behavior varies significantly across listening positions.
