About this plugin
Waterfall Rotary Speaker is a software emulation of the Leslie 147 cabinet, one of the most sought-after rotating speaker designs in recorded music history. Rather than modeling the effect as a simple modulation algorithm, Waterfall captures the mechanical and electroacoustic characteristics that made the original hardware essential to countless rock, soul, and funk recordings.
The plugin's strength lies in its dual-rotor design simulation, which produces genuine three-dimensional movement across the stereo field as both the tweeter and woofer rotate at different speeds. This creates a far more complex and organic modulation character than conventional chorus or flange effects can achieve. Equally important is the inclusion of the Leslie 147's tube power amplifier modeling. This saturation stage adds harmonic density and tonal warmth that distinguishes authentic Leslie character from generic rotary speaker emulations.

The implementation includes authentic microphone placement modeling, capturing how the original cabinets were recorded in professional studios. This attention to mic technique and room interaction translates into surprisingly natural results when printed to stereo tracks.
Waterfall includes presets organized by source material - vocals, guitar, keys, bass, and drums - which serve as functional starting points rather than gimmicks. The controls remain straightforward, addressing the core parameters that define rotary speaker behavior: rotor speed, depth, and character tone.
This plugin is best suited for engineers and producers seeking period-authentic modulation effects or working with material where Leslie cabinet sounds are historically appropriate. Its accuracy makes it particularly valuable for mixing sessions where vintage reference recordings guide tonal decisions.
