About this plugin
VoxDucker is a sidechain ducking plugin engineered to automate level reduction across a secondary audio source based on input from a designated control track. In practical terms, this means placing the plugin on a backing music track while routing vocal or other lead elements through its sidechain input triggers automatic attenuation when the sidechain signal peaks, then releases when it subsides. The core appeal lies in its operational simplicity: United Plugins has preset the ducking behavior to work effectively across most common scenarios with minimal tweaking required.
The plugin offers three distinct ducking modes to accommodate different source material and mixing contexts, addressing not just voice-over work but also drum-to-bass relationships, guitar-to-lead interactions, and other layered arrangements where selective level reduction improves clarity and focus. The interface prioritizes essential controls - primarily a depth slider for ducking amount - while providing detailed metering for input, output, and sidechain signals. This visual feedback prevents the guesswork that can accompany aggressive dynamics processing.

VoxDucker targets content creators and engineers working across podcasting, video production, audiobook narration, and music mixing where rapid turnaround times justify automation. The absence of hardware keys or dongles removes friction from workflow setup and system changes.
Compared to traditional compressors used for ducking purposes, this plugin's sidechain-specific design and mode selection eliminate the need for careful threshold and ratio calibration on individual sessions. For engineers accustomed to manual mixing or multiband compression approaches, VoxDucker represents a faster, more transparent alternative that maintains sonic character while reducing production overhead.
