About this plugin
Curves Resolve addresses a fundamental mixing challenge: when multiple instruments occupy the same frequency range, traditional EQ and compression often create more problems than they solve. This plugin takes a different approach by analyzing the spectral content of a reference track and dynamically carving frequency-specific space in the processing track only where actual conflicts occur.
The technical architecture offers two processing modes. Dynamic mode operates in real time, continuously responding to spectral clashes as they happen. Steady mode learns the frequency relationships during playback and applies consistent, predictable cuts. This dual approach gives engineers flexibility between surgical responsiveness and transparent, set-it-and-forget-it functionality. The ducking engine works both broadly across frequencies (classic style) and narrowly at specific problem areas (smart mode), providing genuine control without the artifacts typical of multiband compression.

The interface simplifies complex spectral analysis into manageable decisions. Snapshot controls optimize settings for common instrument pairings - vocal and synth, kick and bass, drums and strings - eliminating guesswork during setup. Sidechain adjustments allow fine-tuning of how aggressively the plugin responds to conflicts.
Curves Resolve suits mixing engineers working with dense arrangements where conventional techniques create phasey, over-processed results. It's particularly valuable for electronic and hip-hop production where kick and bass clarity matters, though orchestral and pop sessions benefit equally from its transparent intervention. The included zero-latency Live version works in live monitoring chains. Among masking-reduction tools, Resolve stands apart for actual intelligence rather than preset compensation, making it genuinely useful rather than merely convenient.
