About this plugin
Soundiron's Sick 2 is a comprehensive horror sound design library built on a sophisticated Kontakt sampler engine. The core collection comprises over 200 production-ready samples sourced from field recordings in decommissioned military installations - a Cold War-era naval vessel and a Civil War/WWI artillery bunker - delivering authentic industrial decay and spatial character that's difficult to synthesize convincingly.
The plugin's strength lies in its modulation architecture. Beyond the expected ADSR controls, the interface provides an LFO system with shape selection, tempo-syncing, and multiple modulation targets. The 12-filter suite spans highpass, lowpass, and FX varieties with modulation destinations including velocity, mod wheel, expression, and aftertouch assignment. An arpeggiator with swing, randomization, and velocity tables adds rhythmic texture generation capabilities. The customizable key and scale lock system proves particularly useful for live performance, constraining melodic output without sacrificing spontaneity.

Where Sick 2 differentiates itself is in its 18-module FX rack, allowing users to chain effects with surgical precision rather than accepting preset chains. Combined with the 20 included FX presets, this modularity suits both sound designers seeking granular control and composers preferring guided starting points.
The library serves horror, dark ambient, industrial, and cinematic composers well. Experienced producers will appreciate the technical depth, though the interface density requires familiarity with complex sampler workflows. Relative to competing horror libraries, Sick 2 occupies a middle ground - more comprehensive than basic sample packs but less specialized than dedicated synthesis tools.
