The core functionality centers on dual True Peak and RMS metering with selectable scales including Linear, Non-Linear, and the K-weighting standards (K-20, K-14, K-12) used in broadcast and streaming mastering. Beyond conventional digital meters, SSL includes emulated VU and PPM needles that provide the tactile feedback many engineers prefer for monitoring mix balance and preventing digital clipping. A 31-band real-time analyzer displays frequency spectrum with adjustable peak hold and averaging parameters, enabling precise identification of problematic resonances or masking issues.

Phase coherence and stereo balance measurements round out the analysis toolkit, offering critical data for mix translation and compatibility checking. The interface scales from 50% to 200%, accommodating both mixing on primary displays and secondary reference monitors.
