About this plugin
For mastering engineers accustomed to Weiss hardware, this software collection represents a legitimate alternative to maintaining expensive outboard gear. The upgrade path from the DS5 multiband compressor provides access to the full suite at a significantly reduced cost, making it practical for studios that have already committed to Weiss sonics.
The bundle consolidates eight essential tools: the DS1-MK3 peak limiter, DS5 multiband compressor, MM-1 maximizer, linear phase EQ1, surgical deesser, Exciter harmonic processor, and the Gambit channel strip for Console 1 integration. This isn't a collection of novelty processors; these are the algorithms that define professional mastering studios worldwide.

Technically, Weiss plug-ins approach dynamic and spectral processing with uncommon precision. The multiband compression handles frequency-specific control without the audible artifacts common in less sophisticated designs. The EQ1's linear phase characteristic preserves phase relationships across the frequency spectrum, critical for maintaining stereo imaging on master buses. The deesser operates with surgical accuracy rather than the broad-stroke approach of conventional tools.
This collection suits mastering engineers, mix engineers preparing for external mastering, and producers seeking transparency in their signal chain. The Softube emulations, developed directly with Weiss Engineering, maintain fidelity to hardware behavior without arbitrary "character."
The economic argument is straightforward: purchasing these plug-ins individually costs substantially more. For existing DS5 owners, the upgrade marginalizes the cost of tools you'll likely need anyway.
