About this plugin
The Horizon Bundle represents Waves' most comprehensive plugin collection, consolidating 93 tools across mixing, mastering, and creative processing. It functions as a complete production environment rather than a specialized toolkit, drawing from decades of analog hardware emulation alongside modern digital processing architecture.
The bundle's strength lies in its systematic approach to professional audio work. The mastering section alone justifies consideration: the L-series multimaximizers provide transparent loudness control across multiple frequency bands, while the Linear Phase EQ and Linear Phase Multiband Compressor eliminate phase distortion during corrective work. These tools reflect current mastering standards without the compromise typical of aggressive dynamic processing.

For mixing, the collection balances vintage character with surgical precision. The CLA Classic Compressors deliver the signature tone of legendary engineer Chris Lord-Alge, while plugins like Kramer Tape and PuigChild emulate discrete analog circuits with measurable accuracy. Vocal Rider automates level riding, addressing a fundamental tracking and mixing challenge that fewer alternatives handle effectively. The GTR3 suite provides guitar-specific tools often requiring external hardware or VST sprawl.
Horizon suits established professionals and serious home studio operators with genre-agnostic workflows. Its breadth eliminates plugin hunting across multiple developers, though this same comprehensiveness creates a learning curve for newcomers. The bundle's value proposition depends on utilization: engineers leveraging mastering plugins, vocal processing, and mixing dynamics will extract maximum benefit.
Compared to competing all-in-one solutions, Horizon prioritizes proven algorithms over novelty, reflecting Waves' philosophy of refinement over experimentation.
