About this plugin
Waves' Masters Bundle consolidates three essential tools for professional mastering work into a single, cohesive package. The foundation rests on the L2 Ultramaximizer, a look-ahead brickwall limiter that combines transparent peak control with level maximization. This is the workhorse that has maintained relevance across two decades of mastering environments, partly because it adds controlled aggression without obvious distortion. The implementation prioritizes clarity at maximized levels, crucial when translating to compressed delivery formats.
The Linear Phase EQ operates without the phase shift that conventional equalizers introduce, making it ideally suited to mastering where transparency is non-negotiable. Its ability to handle broad tonal adjustments while maintaining phase coherence sets it apart from general-purpose alternatives. Similarly, the Linear Phase Multiband Compressor provides frequency-specific dynamic control without the coloration that standard multiband designs impose. This is particularly valuable when correcting problems in specific ranges without affecting the overall character of a mix.

Advanced dithering and noise shaping algorithms round out the package, handling bit-depth reduction cleanically whether for CD mastering or other delivery specifications. The auto-makeup gain on both the multiband compressor and maximizer eliminates manual compensation, streamlining workflow.
This bundle suits mastering engineers and serious mixing professionals who demand clinical accuracy alongside sonic impact. It's most valuable for those working across multiple delivery formats and requiring transparent processing tools that genuinely maintain source material integrity while adding necessary punch and clarity. The linear-phase technology represents the current standard for phase-critical applications, making this collection a practical choice rather than an aspirational one.
