About this plugin
Softube's Volume 6 represents a matured approach to plugin bundling, prioritizing sonic fidelity over feature bloat. This collection pairs meticulously modeled dynamics processors from industry standards with carefully selected tools for mixing and mastering workflows, creating a coherent toolkit rather than a scattered grab bag of utilities.
The FET Compressor Mk II anchors the bundle as its centerpiece - a ground-up remake of Softube's already-respected 1176 emulation. The new iteration maintains the characterful aggression and harmonic coloration of the original hardware while introducing practical DAW-era additions: sidechain filtering, stereo linking, and a high-frequency makeup gain control that addresses real-world mixing scenarios without compromising the compressor's core sonic signature. The OPTO Compressor rounds out the dynamics section with the opposing character - smooth, musical gain reduction that sits naturally on sources requiring transparent control.

Softube's partnerships with analog mastering specialists like Weiss and Summit Audio inform the mastering chain quality, while Marshall and Drawmer collaborations ensure the bundle addresses both creative and corrective needs across frequencies and dynamics.
This collection suits engineers who reject penny-wise, pound-foolish bundling strategies. Rather than including every conceivable plugin, Softube has prioritized tools that genuinely integrate into professional workflows. The sound quality across the set remains consistently refined, making Volume 6 a legitimate investment for serious mixing and mastering rather than a checkbox upgrade. Experienced producers will recognize the omissions as intentional curation, not limitations.
