About this plugin
Waves Gold represents the industry standard plugin suite built on decades of refinement and real-world studio application. This 40+ plugin collection consolidates essential mixing and mastering tools into a single, comprehensive package that has become the de facto choice for professional facilities worldwide.
The bundle's strength lies in its balanced approach to both corrective and creative processing. Core mixing utilities like the C1 and C4 compressors, Q10 equalizer, and S1 stereo imager handle fundamental tasks with transparent, musical character. The C1 in particular remains one of the most versatile single-band compressors available, while the C4 multiband processor excels at targeted frequency-specific control without the phase artifacts that plague some alternatives. The IR-L convolution reverb and TrueVerb provide legitimate spatial processing, though users seeking cutting-edge algorithmic character may find them competent rather than inspirational.

Gold distinguishes itself through specialized processors often missing from competitor bundles. The L1 ultramaximizer has protected countless masters from clipping, while MV2 dynamics processor and MetaFlanger demonstrate Waves' commitment to inclusion across mixing disciplines. Bass enhancement tools like MaxxBass and Vitamin Sonic Enhancer address common production challenges without relying on extreme EQ moves.
The bundle's analog modeling, particularly in the Renaissance series plugins, successfully captures vintage console character through digital emulation. This hybrid approach - combining warm saturation with digital precision - has made Gold indispensable in mixing environments where both color and surgical control matter.
Best suited for professional engineers and serious producers, Gold functions as a complete mixing solution requiring minimal supplementation for commercial results.
