About this plugin
Fix Phaser is Softube's comprehensive take on classic phasing, designed by Paul Wolff to consolidate multiple phaser archetypes into a single, cohesive plugin. Rather than settling on one particular flavor, the tool draws from several generations of phase-shift processing, making it genuinely useful across diverse mixing scenarios.
The core engine sweeps the phase center between 0.01 and 6Hz, delivering everything from barely perceptible movement to pronounced, swooping modulation. An envelope follower adds dynamic responsiveness to incoming signals, allowing the effect to react to transients and amplitude changes in real time. Phase offset and regeneration controls provide the granular shaping needed to dial in specific tonal characteristics, whether you're after subtle texture or pronounced spatial effects.

Three stereo modes are particularly valuable. The wide mode converts mono sources into convincing stereo imagery, a technique that proves especially effective on guitars, vocals, and drums that otherwise sound static. This approach maintains phase coherence while creating genuine width, rather than relying on simple delay or frequency splitting tricks.
Sonically, Fix Phaser occupies familiar vintage territory - the 70s and 80s aesthetic is unmistakable - yet the modern interface and precision controls allow for reproduction of both classic recorded textures and experimental applications. The mix knob facilitates precise wet/dry balancing, preventing the effect from obscuring source material.
The plugin serves producers and mix engineers seeking characterful modulation without menu diving. It stands as the final piece in Softube's Fix modulation trilogy, complementing the Flanger and Doubler while maintaining distinct sonic territory. For those working across genres where phasing adds necessary dimensionality or texture, Fix Phaser delivers both vintage character and modern flexibility.
