About this plugin
Sinevibes' Vibrant is a purposefully constrained phaser designed for KORG's prologue, minilogue xd, and NTS-1 hardware synthesizers. Rather than pursuing maximum flexibility, the plugin commits to a specific sonic territory: six cascaded two-pole all-pass filters arranged in series with global feedback create three distinct notches in the frequency spectrum, flanked by resonant peaks that intensify dramatically as feedback rises. This architecture produces a characteristically vocal, almost vowel-like quality that distinguishes Vibrant from conventional multi-stage phasers.
The built-in triangle LFO sweeps across a fixed two-octave range from 800 to 3200 Hz, positioning the effect squarely in the midrange where it interacts meaningfully with most instruments without disappearing into mud or occupying excessive high-frequency space. This narrow window reflects deliberate design philosophy rather than limitation - the frequency bounds ensure musical results without requiring constant parameter hunting.

Vibrant targets producers and synthesizer players seeking character-driven, hardware-integrated effects. Those accustomed to software plugins offering dozens of parameters may initially find the stripped-down control set restrictive. However, experienced users will recognize this as intentional curation. The DSP implementation carries KORG certification specifics and includes lag filtering for parameter smoothing, eliminating digital artifacts during real-time modulation.
Among portable hardware phasers, Vibrant occupies a distinct niche - more focused than utility-oriented alternatives, yet less experimental than granular or spectral approaches. It excels when the goal is adding processed character to individual synth voices within a hardware setup rather than serving as a generic effects processor.
