About this plugin
ShapeMod is a volume modulation plugin that replaces the limitations of traditional sidechain ducking with a node-based envelope system. Rather than relying on fixed curves or simple LFO shapes, you draw the exact modulation contour needed for your source material, making it equally capable of surgical precision and chaotic rhythmic effects.
The plugin's core strength lies in its flexibility. With unlimited envelope nodes, you can craft anything from smooth, musicality-preserving volume swells to aggressive gating patterns. Time syncing from 1/32 to 32 bars accommodates both tight rhythmic locking and slow, evolving movements. The frequency band isolation feature transforms ShapeMod from a general ducking tool into a surgical processor, allowing you to duck only the low-end punch of a bass while preserving vocal intelligibility, or create tremolo effects on upper midrange content without affecting the low end.

For bass producers and electronic musicians, the sidechain-style pumping capabilities are genuine alternatives to sending audio to sidechain compressors. For sound designers working with pads and synths, the ability to draw complex, evolving modulation shapes opens creative possibilities that standard tremolos cannot match. Mid/side processing, phase offset, and PWM controls add sophisticated tweaking options for those seeking subtle character shaping rather than obvious effects.
The plugin's efficiency distinguishes it from CPU-heavy convolution-based systems or excessive stacking of traditional tools. ShapeMod sits comfortably in professional workflows as both a quick-win utility and a detailed modulation destination, making it a worthwhile addition for studios where precise rhythmic control and frequency-selective processing matter.
