RWND is a halftime and reverse effects plugin built around dual varispeed buffer engines rather than time-stretching algorithms. Unlike conventional reverse processors that flip audio and play it backwards, RWND ramps playback rate from +1 through zero to -1, creating a tape-like deceleration into reverse that sounds fundamentally different from granular or FFT-based alternatives. The plugin's architecture uses crossfaded read heads walking a buffer at user-controlled rates, keeping CPU overhead minimal while preserving the subtle artifacts that characterize analog tape manipulation.
The interface presents two independent sides: HALF for halftime effects and REVD for reverse, each with dedicated Trigger, Rate, Mix, and Sync/Free controls. Holding either button engages its corresponding engine for exactly as long as needed.
