About this plugin
Output's SIGNAL represents a thoughtfully engineered approach to dynamic processing that prioritizes musical utility over feature bloat. The plugin combines multiband compression with intuitive visual feedback, allowing producers to target specific frequency ranges with surgical precision while maintaining transparency across the mix. Its core strength lies in the relationship between technical capability and accessibility - the interface reveals complexity only as needed, making it equally effective for surgical EQ-style compression or aggressive tonal shaping.
The sonic character errs toward musicality rather than clinical precision. SIGNAL's compression engine exhibits a gentle, cohesive quality that complements contemporary production techniques without imposing a distinctive coloration. This restraint distinguishes it from competitors like FabFilter Pro-MB, which tends toward transparency, or Waves C6, which embraces a more aggressive character.

SIGNAL suits mixing engineers working across genres who value flexibility without sacrificing workflow speed. Its multiband approach excels at controlling vocal plosives, taming cymbal brittleness, or asserting low-end control - tasks where broadband compression proves inadequate. The learning resources bundled through Producertech's instruction add practical context, though experienced producers will extract value from the plugin itself regardless.
Among comparable tools, SIGNAL occupies middle ground between consumer-friendly options and specialized surgical processors. It neither innovates significantly nor claims to, instead offering proven multiband dynamics in a form that rewards both quick decisions and deep exploration. For mixing-focused producers unwilling to compromise between simplicity and capability, it merits serious consideration.
