Rather than applying broad-spectrum compression to typical sibilant frequencies, SPL's Auto Dynamic De-Esser analyzes the entire frequency spectrum in real time, isolating the exact sibilant content with surgical precision. The detected frequencies are then phase-inverted and mixed back into the signal to cancel sibilance at the source, a technique that preserves vocal character even under aggressive reduction settings where traditional de-essers would introduce artifacts or tonal coloration.
