About this plugin
Halo Vision represents a significant advancement in surround and immersive audio analysis, moving beyond the limitations of traditional metering approaches. Developed by NUGEN Audio, this real-time visual analysis suite provides audio professionals with multi-dimensional insights into phase relationships, frequency distribution, and spatial positioning across 3D audio formats.
The plugin's core strength lies in its Contextual Correlation technology, which addresses a fundamental flaw in conventional correlation meters. By compensating for level differences between channels, it identifies only the phase issues that will actually cause audible cancellation problems, eliminating false positives that plague standard analysis tools. The Correlation Matrix and Correlation Web provide complementary visualization approaches - one offering detailed numerical analysis, the other delivering intuitive network representations that reveal problematic channel relationships at a glance.

The Frequency and Location Haze modules reframe spatial audio analysis entirely. The circular frequency display immediately communicates how spectral content distributes across the surround field, while Location Haze visualizes perceived energy distribution with precise spatial context. This approach proves invaluable for mix engineers working with Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D, or object-based formats where phantom center imaging and surround coherence are critical.
Halo Vision's configurable display system allows engineers to assemble custom analysis workflows tailored to their specific mixing scenarios. It functions equally well as a diagnostic tool for troubleshooting problematic mixes or as a real-time reference during production. For mastering engineers and immersive music producers, it fills a genuine analytical gap, replacing guesswork with actionable visual feedback that ears alone might miss.
