About this plugin
VISION 4X is a real-time spectral analysis plugin developed by Excite Audio in collaboration with NOISIA that consolidates four analysis tools into a single, customizable interface. The plugin combines a high-resolution spectrogram, FFT bar graph, waveform display, and phase correlation meter, each independently resizable and configurable for different analytical tasks.
The spectrogram distinguishes itself through enhanced low-frequency resolution, a critical advantage for electronic music production where sub-bass definition determines competitive translation. Three visualization modes - Transient, Harmonic, and All-round - provide targeted analysis depending on whether you're examining attack characteristics, tonal content, or broadband behavior. Ten color maps offer varying information density, with adjustable bias toward frequency extremes and customizable dB and Hz ranges for focused inspection.

Operational flexibility sets VISION 4X apart from conventional spectrum analyzers. You can operate displays continuously, loop sections with overlaid analysis, or trigger retransmission via MIDI input for direct kick drum comparison and layering decisions. This last feature proves invaluable during arrangement and mixing phases when precise frequency matching between elements is essential.
The plugin syncs accurately to DAW timeline and project tempo, respecting your existing workflow rather than imposing rigid analysis parameters. This makes it suitable for mastering scenarios, detailed mixing work, or the forensic sound design critical to electronic music production.
VISION 4X occupies a refined position among analysis tools, targeting producers who value precision without sacrificing usability. While not a mixing panacea, it provides legitimate technical insight that rewards experienced ears willing to interpret visual data critically.
