Rather than treating synthesis and sequencing as separate domains, Rounds collapses them into a unified performance instrument that fundamentally changes how you interact with evolving timbres during playback.

The architecture consists of two complementary synthesis engines. The analog engine delivers the warm, harmonically dense character expected from two-oscillator designs, while the FM digital engine provides metallic brightness and dissonant textural complexity through three oscillators and a 2-pole filter. Eight independent sound designs per engine feed into the Voice Programmer, a 32-cell sequencer where each cell contains a discrete sound with its own parameter settings. This structure enables genuine sound-switching sequences rather than simple note sequences, a capability few competitors offer at this sophistication level.

The Remote Octave feature maps block and cell assignments directly to keyboard regions, allowing performers to reshape sequences mid-performance without menu diving.
