About this plugin
MWaveShaperMB stands as MeldaProduction's answer to creative distortion and nonlinear processing across frequency ranges. The core premise is straightforward but powerful: a multiband processor that allows you to draw custom wave-shaping curves independently across up to six bands, with transparent crossover options including analog, linear-phase, and hybrid algorithms. This approach sidesteps the limitations of traditional multiband distortion, where fixed algorithms constrain sonic possibility.
The dual interface design acknowledges different workflow preferences. A simplified mode offers preset-based starting points for those seeking quick results, while advanced mode exposes the full architecture: independent band controls, peak metering, input gain staging, and crossover frequency adjustments. Where MWaveShaperMB distinguishes itself is in modulation depth. Four global modulators can target any parameter, including themselves, functioning as LFOs, envelope followers, MIDI-triggered ADSRs, or pitch detectors. This enables dynamic, time-varying distortion that tracks input dynamics or evolves independently.

The oscillator engine employs MeldaProduction's envelope system alongside step sequencing and algorithmic processing, offering waveform customization beyond simple saturation. Adjustable upsampling from 1x to 16x addresses aliasing concerns, crucial when reshaping high-frequency content.
This tool serves sound designers pursuing unconventional textures, mixing engineers needing surgical frequency-dependent coloration, and producers working in surround formats up to 8.1 channels. Compared to competitors, MWaveShaperMB's parametric flexibility and modulation options position it toward the advanced end of the spectrum, rewarding experimentation while maintaining sonic clarity through its transparent processing architecture.
