MultiMod Rack

MultiMod Rack consolidates three of Waves' distortion workhorses - Abbey Road Saturator, Berzerk, and MDMX - into a single, deeply configurable effects processor. The plugin functions as a modular rack capable of hosting any combination of distortion, autopan, chorus, compressor, delay, or reverb across three parallel signal chains, each with independent processing.

The architecture hinges on multiband processing with variable crossover points, allowing frequency-specific treatment that ranges from transparent saturation to aggressive harmonic mangling. Four parametric EQ stages with selectable response curves provide surgical control, while a real-time FFT display ensures precise frequency management. What distinguishes MultiMod from simpler distortion stacks is its modulation infrastructure: four independently assignable modulation sources toggle between LFO and step sequencer modes, with the ability to draw custom shapes and patterns. Input amplitude functions as an additional modulation source, enabling dynamic response to incoming material.

The stereo capabilities extend beyond standard panning, offering rotation and width controls that create immersive, dimensional results. Nearly all parameters respond to modulation with full MIDI Learn support, facilitating both real-time performance and detailed automation.
