About this plugin
MStereoProcessor addresses a fundamental problem in modern mixing: precise stereo field management without compromise. This multiband stereo analyzer and enhancement tool from MeldaProduction separates the stereo image into four independent frequency bands, allowing engineers to apply widening, narrowing, or excitation to bass independently from midrange and treble content. This granular approach acknowledges that kick drums and bass instruments typically demand mono or near-mono treatment, while upper frequencies benefit from wider stereo placement.
The plugin's technical foundation emphasizes transparency and mono compatibility, critical requirements often overlooked in consumer-level stereo processors. Three crossover options - analog, linear-phase, and hybrid - accommodate different mixing philosophies and material types. The integrated 2D stereo field analyzer and dual-channel peak meters provide real-time visual feedback of the stereo profile, essential for identifying phase issues or problematic imaging before translation problems emerge.

MStereoProcessor functions effectively as both a diagnostic and creative tool. The mono-compatibility checker specifically addresses the lingering reality that commercial mixes still reach listeners on mono playback systems and translated environments. Beyond technical correction, the broadband and per-band exciters add clarity without inflating the stereo image artificially.
This plugin suits mastering engineers requiring surgical stereo control, mixing engineers working with material needing spectral stereo optimization, and anyone concerned with consistent translation across playback systems. While competitors exist in this space, MStereoProcessor's combination of technical rigor, per-band processing flexibility, and genuine analytical tools positions it as a serious alternative to mixing console stereo tools. It represents a pragmatic rather than flashy approach to stereo enhancement.
