About this plugin
MLimiterX represents Melda Production's entry into the competitive limiting plugin market, distinguished primarily by its dual-interface approach and sophisticated saturation architecture. The plugin's core strength lies in its ability to transparently control peaks while introducing optional harmonic coloration through its integrated saturation algorithms, allowing engineers to choose between clinical loudness maximization and character-driven dynamics processing.
The interface philosophy splits functionality across beginner and professional modes. The simple view presents four essential controls - sufficient for straightforward limiting tasks - while the edit screen unveils psychoacoustic prefiltering, custom attack and release curves, spectral smoothing, and multi-channel processing up to 8-channel surround. This dual-layer approach avoids the common pitfall of overwhelming users with unnecessary complexity while preserving depth for those who need it.

Technically, MLimiterX distinguishes itself through M/S and multichannel capabilities, upsampling options from 1x to 16x, and MIDI automation support. The visualization engine provides genuine utility beyond aesthetics, offering both traditional metering and time-domain graphical feedback that clarifies the limiter's behavior at a glance.
The plugin suits both mixing engineers seeking transparent peak control and producers exploring harmonic enhancement through saturation. Its saturation character introduces the kind of analog warmth that typically requires external hardware or dedicated saturation plugins, making it a versatile addition to mastering chains and individual track processing. The absence of copy protection and inclusion of free updates positions it as pragmatically consumer-friendly within Melda's ecosystem.
