About this plugin
The MC2000 is a surgical multi-band compression tool that separates itself from typical linear-phase processors through its focus on musical articulation rather than transparent gain reduction. Available in three configurations (two, three, and four-band versions), it provides the granular frequency-specific dynamic control essential for mastering work, mix bus processing, and targeted track treatment.
What distinguishes the MC2000 is its compression architecture. Beyond standard threshold and ratio controls, the Knee and BITE parameters offer nuanced character shaping - the former controlling compression curve smoothness, the latter introducing subtle harmonic response that recalls analog tape behavior. The plugin's multiple peak detection modes (including RMS and peak variants) allow users to dial in everything from transparent vocal leveling to the aggressive grab of vintage optical designs.

The 24 dB/octave crossover filters maintain tight band isolation, preventing the frequency smearing that undermines lesser multi-band designs. Each band operates independently with full dynamic controls, while the control linking feature streamlines workflow for correlated compression across adjacent frequencies.
McDSP's zero-latency architecture suits it well for tracking and real-time monitoring, while double precision processing ensures transparent operation without the digital artifacts that plague lower-resolution competitors. The updated interface is intuitive without sacrificing depth.
The MC2000 Native appeals to mastering engineers, mix bus processors, and producers requiring surgical dynamic control with character. It occupies the middle ground between transparent multi-band corrective tools and colored vintage emulations, making it versatile across genre and application.
