About this plugin
RESO is a dynamic resonance suppressor designed to identify and neutralize problematic frequency buildups in individual tracks or full mixes. Rather than applying broad EQ cuts that compromise character, RESO targets specific resonant peaks with surgical precision, using dynamic processing to suppress only when energy exceeds a threshold relative to the surrounding spectrum.
The plugin's core strength lies in its analysis tools. A visual frequency display highlights disproportionate peaks, while the Frequency Sweep function lets you audition problem areas in real time. The Calculate Targets feature automatically identifies the most resonant frequencies and recommends suppression points, significantly reducing the trial-and-error typical of resonance reduction work. You can then manually create suppression nodes by clicking directly on the interface, adjusting Q width via scroll input for fine-tuned control.

Sonically, RESO employs mastering-grade filters with automatic Q optimization, delivering transparent results without the thinning or punch loss that often accompanies aggressive static EQ. This makes it suitable across the mixing chain - on individual vocals and drums, synth busses, or full mixes where broad cuts would damage the overall character.
RESO represents a practical evolution beyond traditional parametric EQ for resonance work. While dedicated tools like Soothe2 focus on broader spectral smoothing, RESO's emphasis on identifying specific problem frequencies and guided suppression makes it particularly valuable for engineers who want control without guesswork. It's most effective for those working in dense mixes where resonances accumulate or for mastering applications where transparency is non-negotiable. The workflow genuinely accelerates resonance correction compared to manual EQ approaches.
