About this plugin
DROffline MkII is MAAT's batch measurement application for comprehensive audio analysis, designed to quantify loudness standards and dynamic range metrics that DAWs typically cannot provide. The software performs 24 distinct measurements including integrated DRi (Dynamic Range index), all R128 loudness parameters, and PSR (Peak to Short Term Loudness Ratio), a metric gaining prominence in streaming and broadcast specifications.
The application operates as a background process, allowing you to process single files or entire directories without interrupting workflow. Results export as plain text or tab-delimited logs with optional metadata fields for client deliverables, making it practical for documentation, distribution preparation, and post-production chain of custody records. Pro Tools and Logic users benefit from native drag-and-drop integration, while the software pairs directly with DRMeter MkII - dropping audio files onto a plugin instance triggers automatic measurement.

DROffline MkII addresses a genuine technical gap. While its companion DRMeter MkII plugin provides real-time DR measurement, only DROffline can generate official integrated DRi values automatically across batches. This distinction matters for engineers working with broadcast, streaming, and archival specifications that mandate DR reporting. The DR algorithm itself measures dynamic density by quantifying compression aggression - related to crest factor but specifically calibrated to detect over-limited masters.
The tool suits mastering engineers, post-production facilities, and quality assurance workflows where loudness compliance and dynamic range documentation are contractual requirements. For studios handling distributed content across multiple platforms with varying loudness standards, DROffline MkII provides the systematic measurement backbone that professional workflows demand.
