About this plugin
DRMeter MkII represents a significant evolution in loudness metering, built by MAAT with input from Friedemann Tischmeyer, who contributed to the EBU R128 standard itself. For engineers working across diverse platforms - streaming services, broadcast, mastering, and social media - this plugin eliminates the guesswork of loudness compliance.
The core strength lies in its dual approach. While maintaining strict conformance to R128 and A/85 standards with measured accuracy exceeding many competitors, DRMeter MkII augments mandatory mono measurements with simultaneous L/R channel tracking. This reveals problems that standard mono readings miss, particularly phase issues and channel imbalances that affect perceived loudness and translational quality.

The Dynamic Deviation function cuts through the noise by comparing current dynamic density against your target loudness, giving you immediate visual feedback on how compression or dynamic choices affect your mix. Unlike meters optimized for a single workflow, DRMeter MkII accommodates both relative and absolute loudness scales simultaneously, adapting to whichever reference standard your client demands.
The interface prioritizes functionality over aesthetics - a deliberate choice that serves daily professional work better than visually complex alternatives. Everything you need fits in one resizable window without information overload.
DRMeter MkII is essential for mastering engineers, broadcast professionals, and music producers handling multiple delivery formats. It's equally suited for mixing to loudness standards or understanding how your mix translates across platforms. For anyone serious about loudness compliance without compromise, this is the reference tool.
