About this plugin
Lucid represents a meaningful advancement in granular processing by coupling real-time grain manipulation with genuine musical constraints. The plugin's architecture centers on two core innovations: grain scale-locking, which automatically retunes every grain to a chosen key and scale, and timeline synchronization that keeps time-stretching and frozen passages locked to session tempo. This combination addresses a persistent limitation of granular effects - the tendency to produce harmonically untethered textures that sit awkwardly against harmonic material.
The engine itself functions as a transparent rebuilder of incoming audio, fragmenting sound into controllable grains that can be reshaped through independent filtering, saturation, and stereo imaging. The harmonic grain delay creates shimmer and countermelody effects that remain scale-locked, while chord and arpeggiator modes generate structured harmonic movement from monophonic or complex sources. An integrated animator pad provides simultaneous control over multiple parameters, accommodating both quick explorations and deeper sound design.

Lucid occupies a distinct position within the granular landscape - it's neither a traditional time-stretcher nor an experimental drone generator, but rather a tool designed for producers who need granular texture without sacrificing harmonic coherence. The 350-preset library emphasizes performance readiness, though the interface supports detailed per-grain editing for those requiring precision.
Best suited for electronic producers, orchestral arrangers, and mix engineers seeking dimensional enhancement, Lucid excels at both subtle layering and dramatic transformation. Its music-first design philosophy makes it genuinely useful across contemporary genres without requiring extensive manual tuning.
