About this plugin
Loopmasters' Artisan Audio - Dub Techno 2 positions itself as a specialized effects processor designed around the production aesthetics of dub techno and related deep electronic genres. The plugin synthesizes delay, reverb, and modulation parameters into a cohesive signal chain that prioritizes spatial depth and temporal ambiguity - hallmarks of classic dub production translated into plugin form.
The sonic character emphasizes lo-fi filtering, feedback-rich delays with feedback routing capabilities, and spacious reverb algorithms tuned toward the cavernous, echo-chamber qualities associated with heavyweight dub. Rather than attempting surgical precision, the plugin embraces deliberate coloration and character, making it unsuitable for transparent processing but highly effective for sound design and atmosphere building.

Technically, the effects chain allows for serial and parallel processing configurations, with particularly useful sidechain and automation features for creating movement. The decay and diffusion parameters provide granular control over how effects tails behave - critical for maintaining groove integrity in rhythmic contexts where wash might otherwise obscure transients.
This tool suits producers working in dub techno, techno, and ambient electronic music who understand effect processing as compositional rather than corrective. It's less relevant for engineers requiring pristine spatial imaging or transparent enhancement, though capable operators can dial back aggressiveness for subtler applications.
Compared to stock reverb and delay plugins, Artisan Audio - Dub Techno 2 offers stronger sonic personality and genre-specific routing paradigms. It occupies a middle ground between standalone effect units designed for deep sound design and general-purpose processing tools - specialized enough to justify dedicated CPU allocation for committed dub practitioners.
