About this plugin
Apollo Sound's LoFi Chord Progressions is a MIDI effect plugin designed to generate and manipulate chord voicings within the lo-fi and chillhop aesthetic. The plugin operates as a harmonic constraint tool, allowing producers to input single notes or melodies while the engine automatically voices them across user-defined chord families and inversions. This approach addresses a common production bottleneck: quickly establishing cohesive harmonic movement without manual arrangement.
The plugin excels at generating the stacked, jazz-inflected voicings characteristic of modern lo-fi production - extended chords, sus variations, and chromatic passing tones rendered across a compressed harmonic range. Its strength lies in constraining output to specific scales and progressions, preventing erratic harmonic choices that derail beat arrangements.

LoFi Chord Progressions suits producers working across lo-fi hip-hop, chillwave, and ambient genres seeking faster iteration on harmonic content. While competitors like Cthulhu and Scaler offer deeper melodic analysis and broader genre applicability, Apollo Sound's plugin presents a more specialized, workflow-optimized solution for practitioners within its intended aesthetic. The streamlined interface prioritizes speed over comprehensive harmonic theory, making it particularly valuable during early production phases.
