About this plugin
RX 11 Standard Educational Version represents iZotope's comprehensive approach to audio restoration and repair, scaled appropriately for students and emerging professionals. The plugin suite addresses the practical problems that plague real-world recordings: hum removal, clicks and pops, spectral noise reduction, and dialogue isolation. Unlike surgical tools that require surgical precision, RX 11 deploys machine learning and spectral processing with sufficient automation to yield professional results without extensive parameter tweaking.
The spectral repair engine forms the core strength here. Rather than applying broad EQ or gating, RX 11 visualizes problems in the spectrogram, allowing precise targeting of unwanted elements while preserving desired content. The Dialogue Isolate module, powered by iZotope's source separation technology, effectively separates speech from background noise - useful for podcasters and field recordists working with compromised sources. The De-esser, De-clicker, and Hum Removal modules handle their specific tasks competently without introducing artifacts typical of older, more aggressive approaches.

The Standard Educational Version necessarily omits some advanced modules present in the full suite, primarily the highest-tier spectral tools and certain machine learning features. Still, it provides sufficient capability for audio restoration work in educational contexts and genuine creative applications.
RX remains the industry standard for restoration, preferred by mastering engineers and post-production professionals. The educational version delivers authentic restoration capability without the full investment, making it genuinely valuable for learning proper technique rather than serving as a limited trial.
