About this plugin
iZotope's RX 11 Advanced represents a significant leap beyond the Standard tier, offering professional audio restoration tools that address real-world challenges encountered in mixing, mastering, and post-production workflows. The upgrade path targets engineers who've outgrown basic noise reduction and need surgical precision for dialogue cleanup, vinyl restoration, or complex audio forensics.
Advanced distinguishes itself through machine learning - powered spectral repair, including the proprietary Voice Denoise module that isolates vocal content with remarkable intelligibility retention. The Spectral Repair tool allows frame-by-frame editing at the frequency level, essential when standard algorithms leave artifacts or musical distortion. The addition of De-Esser, De-Clicker, and comprehensive metering provides granular control that Standard users sacrifice.

The sonic character leans toward transparency rather than character - these tools aim for invisible restoration. However, the learning curve is steeper than competing solutions like Waves Restoration or CEDAR's offerings, requiring understanding of spectral analysis and impulse response. Experienced engineers appreciate this precision; novices may find the workflow cumbersome.
RX 11 Advanced occupies a credible position among professional-grade restoration suites. It excels particularly in dialogue work and mastering applications where subtlety matters. The upgrade investment justifies itself primarily for full-time audio professionals and dedicated studios where restoration is routine. For occasional users, Standard remains adequate; for serious post-production work, Advanced becomes indispensable.
