About this plugin
RX 11 Advanced represents iZotope's most comprehensive iteration of their flagship restoration toolkit, building meaningfully on previous versions with expanded capabilities across spectral editing, dialogue processing, and broadband noise reduction. The plugin maintains the core strength that built RX's reputation: surgical precision in isolating and removing unwanted audio artifacts without degrading source material.
The upgrade path from RX Standard to Advanced unlocks several critical tools for professional post-production work. The addition of Music Rebalance, which isolates and adjusts individual stems from mixed sources, proves invaluable for remixing or salvaging problematic recordings. Advanced dialogue isolation and enhancement features now leverage machine learning more effectively, handling complex polyphonic contamination that earlier versions struggled with. The spectral repair module gains better transient preservation, crucial when dealing with click removal or tape noise in rhythmically sensitive material.

Sonically, RX 11 Advanced maintains a neutral processing character - the goal remains transparent correction rather than colorization. The machine learning components train on diverse material without imposing a particular sonic signature, allowing the plugin to adapt to different source material intelligently.
The upgrade suits mastering engineers, podcast producers, and post-production professionals who encounter challenging restoration scenarios regularly. While the learning curve remains steeper than simpler noise gate alternatives, serious practitioners will find the workflow improvements and expanded capabilities justify the investment. Among competing tools, RX maintains its position as the most versatile and precise option for frequency-domain repair work, particularly valuable when source material cannot be re-recorded.
