About this plugin
Insight 2 is a comprehensive metering and analysis plugin designed for mixing and mastering workflows across music production, post-production, and broadcast. The tool consolidates multiple metering functions into a single, customizable interface, allowing engineers to monitor loudness, frequency response, phase relationships, dialogue intelligibility, and dynamic range simultaneously without cluttering the DAW.
The plugin's technical approach emphasizes real-time visual feedback with color-coded alerts that flag potential mix issues before they become problems. Its intelligibility meter applies psychoacoustic modeling to predict how dialogue will translate across different listening environments, addressing a persistent challenge in post-production. Insight 2 supports current loudness standards including LUFS measurement for broadcast compliance, Netflix specifications, and Dolby Atmos configurations up to 7.1.2.

The interface design prioritizes workflow efficiency through customizable layouts and resizable meter windows, allowing engineers to focus on relevant metrics for their specific task. Users can route any DAW track directly to Insight 2 for rapid analysis without freezing or bouncing stems, which streamlines problem-solving in complex sessions.
Insight 2 occupies a functional middle ground among metering tools. It provides greater analytical depth than basic DAW metering while remaining more accessible than specialty loudness units. The intelligibility meter distinguishes it from competitor offerings, making it particularly valuable for dialogue-heavy post-production. The plugin has become standard in professional studios largely due to its reliability and the quality of its measurements rather than aesthetic innovation. For engineers working across multiple formats and loudness standards, it represents an essential reference tool.
