About this plugin
HY-Delay4 is a comprehensive delay and effects workstation that extends beyond conventional delay plugins through its modular signal chain architecture. The unit offers five distinct delay algorithms - Simple, Dual, Grain, Groove, and PM modes - each with different sonic characteristics suited to various production contexts. Simple mode provides straightforward feedback delay, while Grain delivers granular textures, and Groove mode locks to tempo with rhythmic subdivision control. The PM (phase modulation) mode introduces synthetic, detuned characteristics useful for experimental sound design.
What distinguishes Delay4 is its flexible effects routing system. Rather than a fixed signal path, users can arrange delay processing alongside integrated modules including amp saturation, waveshaper, and EQ in any order. This modularity proves essential for producers seeking transparent delays or heavily processed, degraded textures. The editable waveshaper deserves particular mention - its ability to shape harmonic content within the effects chain offers genuine sonic control beyond typical distortion emulation.

The modulation architecture is robust. Four modulation generators with five types enable parameter animation across the delay, effects, and macro controls. The sidechain input supporting envelope following and ducking adds dynamic responsiveness rarely found in delay plugins. Four macro controls provide convenient high-level parameter organization.
HY-Delay4 appeals to sound designers, electronic producers, and mix engineers prioritizing sonic flexibility over preset-driven workflows. Its approach occupies middle ground between simple delay plugins and full modulation destinations - capable enough for serious sound design without the learning curve of dedicated modulation environments. The resizable interface and dual skin modes reflect practical design thinking suited to varied studio setups.
