About this plugin
SuperTap is a multi-tap delay plugin that reimagines the hardware tape echo units that shaped decades of recorded music. Rather than emulating a single machine, it provides six independent stereo delay lines, each with full parameter control, offering substantially more creative flexibility than vintage hardware while maintaining the sonic character that made those units essential.
The plugin's core strength lies in its modulation and filtering capabilities. Each of the six delay lines includes its own filter curve, allowing you to progressively darken repeats or brighten them across the feedback chain. The modulation engine adds genuine dimension to delayed signals, pushing beyond simple slap-back effects into lush, evolving textures. Rotation-based panning maintains stereo image integrity across repeats, a thoughtful detail that prevents the characteristic phase cancellation problems of naive stereo delays.

Sync options include millisecond-precise delay times up to 4.9 seconds, tap tempo control, and host synchronization for rhythmically locked effects. The feedback architecture supports self-oscillation modes that transform the plugin from a purely corrective tool into a sound-design instrument, enabling everything from subtle wash effects to dramatic textural interventions.
SuperTap serves producers and mix engineers working across genres where spatial depth matters. It excels for vocal effects, guitar processing, and rhythmic sound design. While software delays have proliferated, SuperTap's combination of vintage sonic character and modern architectural flexibility establishes it as a serious contender among high-end delay plugins. It doesn't pretend to be a specific hardware unit, instead distilling what made multi-head tape delays musically valuable and extending their capabilities.
