About this plugin
Waves' H-Delay occupies a rare space in the delay plugin market: a genuinely versatile tool that handles both vintage character and clinical precision without compromise. The plugin's strength lies in its hybrid architecture, offering users four distinct analog emulations alongside pristine digital algorithms, each with authentic frequency response and saturation characteristics that differentiate them in meaningful ways rather than superficial styling.
The core delay engine spans 1 to 3500 milliseconds with tempo sync, making it equally viable for rhythmic eighth-note repeats or ambient wash effects. What separates H-Delay from commodity alternatives is its modulation implementation - the chorusing and flanging algorithms feel organic rather than synthetic, with independently controllable left and right channel phasing that unlocks creative stereo imaging possibilities. The resonance feedback circuit behaves predictably at extreme settings without the digital artifacts that plague less sophisticated designs.

Filtering options prove essential for managing high-frequency buildup across multiple repetitions, and the dual-mode spectral control adds dimension that justifies the feature set for detail-oriented mixers. Preset variety runs deep without inducing decision paralysis; the factory sounds serve as legitimate starting points rather than gimmicks.
H-Delay suits producers and engineers who demand both sonic character and technical flexibility - those working across genres where a delay might need to sound like a 1970s tape machine one moment and transparent the next. It's become standard issue in professional facilities precisely because it delivers consistent results across diverse applications without forcing stylistic compromise.
