About this plugin
Stride Engine is a modulation host that treats parameter automation as a generative process. Rather than manually drawing curves or programming sequences, you load VST3 instruments and effects into a single chain, map the controls you want to move, and let the plugin generate evolving motion across all mapped parameters simultaneously. Each click produces a new set of curves locked to your session tempo, up to 32 bars in length.
The technical approach centers on simultaneous, interdependent modulation. Unlike traditional automation lanes or LFO-based modulation, Stride generates complete motion architectures across your entire effect chain in single gestures. You can lock specific curves you prefer while regenerating others, or manually reshape any point on any lane. For Ableton Live users, StrideBridge extends this functionality to native devices like Wavetable and Auto Filter, with INJECT converting generated motion to editable automation clips.

Stride Engine works equally well with synthesis chains, effect stacks routed from external sources, or hybrid approaches combining hosted plugins with DAW-native tools. Keyswitch Mode enables note-triggered modulation, letting you control motion from keyboard input during performance. The sonic character depends entirely on your signal chain, but the plugin excels at creating complex, evolving textures that would be laborious to program manually.
This tool suits sound designers and texture-focused producers who want rapid iteration through variation space without sacrificing hands-on control. Rather than replacing your existing workflow, it accelerates the exploratory phase where discovering interesting parameter interactions typically requires significant time investment. For engineers working with time-based effects or modulated synthesis, it substantially reduces the friction between conception and execution.
