About this plugin
Sonuscore's Chroma Bundle consolidates two distinct piano instruments into a single collection: a restored century-old Wilhelm Diemer upright and a professional Yamaha C3 grand. Rather than presenting straightforward sample playback, both instruments employ a custom core engine capable of generating both acoustically faithful reproductions and abstract, textural interpretations through full mod wheel automation.
The upright piano serves as the bundle's sonic foundation, characterized by a warm, mid-forward profile with substantial low-end presence. Its 27 velocity layers and 8 round robins facilitate expressive playing across multiple articulations - felt, muted, plucked, flageolet, and bowed - recorded across diverse microphone positions. This microphone flexibility grants users tangible control over tonal coloration without relying solely on algorithmic processing.

The grand piano component introduces brighter, more resonant characteristics suitable for traditional performance contexts or prominent melodic passages. Both instruments ship with 90+ preset configurations each, though the presets function primarily as creative jumping-off points rather than polished, production-ready sounds.
The bundle's greatest strength lies in its dual-nature approach: it satisfies both purists seeking authentic, nuanced piano recordings and producers exploring unconventional sonic territories. The engine's TIME TEXTURES inspiration suggests granular or spectral manipulation capabilities, though documentation on specific processing architectures remains limited.
Chroma Bundle suits composers working across film, contemporary classical, and experimental electronic domains. For engineers requiring straightforward, uncolored piano samples, traditional sample libraries may prove more efficient. For those seeking an instrument balancing acoustic integrity with sound design potential, this bundle merits serious consideration.
