Chief Flanger is Audiority's dual-mode recreation of two essential analog flanger architectures: the Boss BF-2 and its hi-band variant, the HF-2. The plugin models the core BBD (bucket-brigade device) topology that defines these units' sonic character, capturing both their characteristic jet-plane sweep and the tonal complexity that made them studio standards.

The dual-mode design addresses a fundamental limitation of traditional flangers. Classic mode delivers the full-frequency modulation sweep synonymous with '70s and '80s production, while Hi-Band mode restricts the effect to upper midrange and treble, preserving low-end definition and mix clarity. This distinction matters considerably in dense arrangements where conventional flanging can muddy the foundation.

The control set - Manual, Depth, Rate, and Resonance - provides essential shaping, with tempo sync enabling rhythmic integration.
