About this plugin
Brainworx's bx_delay 2500 stands as a comprehensive delay plugin that moves beyond simple echo processing to function as a full creative effects station. Built around a clean, hierarchically organized interface, the plugin delivers transparent delay lines with glitch-free time modulation - essential for automated delay parameter changes in modern production contexts. The core delay engine feels naturally integrated with its accompanying processing chain rather than appearing as afterthought effects.
The inclusion of M/S processing distinguishes this tool from standard delay plugins. The Mono Maker feature addresses a persistent mixing problem by anchoring low frequencies to the center while preserving stereo width in the midrange and above, preventing frequency-specific phase issues that plague many stereo delay patches. Ducking functionality allows the delay signal to interact dynamically with the input, enabling everything from transparent spatial enhancement to heavily sidechain-driven rhythmic effects.

The distortion and chorus modules embedded in the feedback loop facilitate both subtle coloration and experimental sound design. Transient shaping on the delay signal provides additional dynamic control, allowing engineers to tame or emphasize the attack characteristics of repeated elements. This combination of tools makes the plugin equally viable for straightforward spatial enhancement on drums and vocals or as a primary instrument for ambient and electronic music composition.
The bx_delay 2500 appeals primarily to mixing engineers seeking surgical stereo control and producers working in genres where delay-based sound design defines the aesthetic. It competes effectively against significantly more expensive mastering-grade delay plugins while maintaining accessibility for creative experimentation.
