About this plugin
Blue Cat's PolyVibe stands as a thoughtfully engineered software interpretation of the classic Uni-Vibe circuit that defined the sound of psychedelic and progressive rock. Rather than simply emulating vintage hardware, the plugin expands on the original design philosophy with modern production flexibility while preserving the warm, swept modulation character that made those original pedals so appealing.
The core architecture offers three distinct filter modes - classic, reverse, and phase - allowing users to dial in everything from traditional rotary speaker simulation to more experimental modulation textures. This flexibility extends beyond guitar work; the plugin proves equally useful across keyboards, bass, drums, and vocals. The swing control adds genuine musicality to the modulation, letting you dial in the subtle timing variations that make modulation effects sit naturally in a mix rather than sound mechanically perfect.

Stereo processing represents a meaningful departure from hardware limitations. Most vintage vibe pedals operated in mono, but PolyVibe's stereo width control creates dimensional movement that benefits contemporary production approaches. Host synchronization and MIDI expression support integrate cleanly into modern DAW workflows, while the Tone Maps feature provides an intuitive entry point for sonic exploration without overwhelming the interface.
For producers seeking authentic vintage character alongside modern control, PolyVibe delivers substantial value. It occupies a credible middle ground between straight emulation and pure experimental effects design. The plugin suits anyone working with modulation effects regularly - whether chasing period-accurate tones or building contemporary sounds that retain organic movement rather than digital artificiality.
