About this plugin
Blue Cat's Oscilloscope Multi stands as a sophisticated real-time analysis tool designed for engineers who need precise visual feedback during mixing, mastering, and recording sessions. Rather than serving purely aesthetic purposes, the plugin delivers genuine diagnostic capability through simultaneous multi-track waveform visualization and comparison on a single display.
The core strength lies in its dual-channel XY phasescope mode, which reveals phase relationships between tracks with the clarity of a hardware Lissajous analyzer. This proves invaluable when identifying phase cancellation issues across drum overheads, stereo recordings, or effect chains where latency misalignment can degrade stereo imaging. The included histogram display provides complementary insight into signal distribution and average peak levels, offering context that traditional waveform views cannot convey.

Technically, the plugin's architecture prioritizes efficiency through native DSP code and zero idle CPU consumption, making it suitable for insertion across multiple tracks without taxing system resources. Support for both Left-Right and Mid-Side operation modes accommodates various workflow preferences, while latency compensation ensures accurate visual alignment across different effect chains.
The four memory slots enable meaningful A/B comparison between different mixes, takes, or processing approaches. This feature transcends simple curiosity, allowing engineers to make evidence-based decisions about phase coherence and dynamic balance. Support for full MIDI control and custom naming conventions further integrates the tool into professional production environments.
Best suited for mastering engineers, critical listeners engaged in stereo work, and recording professionals managing multi-microphone setups, Oscilloscope Multi delivers analytical depth that justifies its position in any serious production toolkit.
