About this plugin
Dubstation 2 is Audio Damage's refined take on bucket-brigade delay emulation, a category that has remained largely dominated by hardware units and a handful of credible plugins. The original Dubstation earned its reputation through meticulous circuit modelling, and the second generation builds on that foundation with meaningful expansions rather than superficial additions.
The core improvement lies in dual-mode operation, which decouples left and right channel delay times and introduces ping-pong feedback routing. This alone elevates the plugin from a general-purpose delay to a more versatile workstation for spatial and rhythmic effects. The integrated LFO handles modulation duties convincingly, capable of anything from subtle chorusing to more dramatic pitch sweeping effects that leverage the plugin's bucket-brigade character - that characteristic spectral shift as delay times extend.

Saturation and filtering controls provide genuine sonic shaping. Rather than feeling tacked on, these tools address the core appeal of bucket-brigade hardware: the ability to push signal into pleasing harmonic coloration while sculpting brightness and presence. The combination allows you to dial in anything from transparent slapback to heavily degraded, lo-fi textures.
Dubstation 2 suits producers working across electronic, hip-hop, and experimental genres where delay character matters as much as timing precision. It's equally valuable for mixing engineers seeking vintage warmth without resorting to actual hardware. The looper mode, while secondary, functions as a clean digital capture tool when needed. This is a genuinely useful evolution of an already proven design, offering expanded creative possibilities without abandoning what made the original indispensable.
